I love how in schools every child is encouraged to write stories from prep onwards.
In my school days, this was not the case. Opportunities only sought out the talented ones. Story writing was not even taught. But that was a different time and space!
In Mr 6’s school, a whole term is dedicated to learning the craft of story writing.
Year 1 – The Dinosaur Whirlpool by T.P. age 6
