The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

C. S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia need no reviews. These are classic timeless tales that have the power to kindle the magic within, in generations gone and yet to come.

I had to share that this gem is available @brisbanelibraries, all seven epic adventures in one large hardcover edition. The pages are glossy, each page with a coloured, intricately designed border and small coloured illustrations cropping up on every other page, making the book just as enchanting as the story within.  The forward, by the author’s stepson, is a moving read that adds a personal touch to the book.  The hand-coloured illustrations are by the artist Pauline Baynes.

The books are not ordered by publication date, but in recommended reading order, starting from the ‘Magician’s Nephew’ and ending with the ‘Last Battle’. With the first school holidays of the year just around the corner, this could be just the book to rekindle the magic or stir some fresh minds ready to explore the infinite possibilities of imagination.
