Where’s The Baby? a spotting book by Britta Teckentrup

Interactive books are a great hit with the kids!

This beautiful book has colourful repetitions of animal prints on each page accompanied by a 8 lines of rhyming verse ending in a challenge to find the baby, hiding somewhere near the mother.

The hunt is not that easy, and you will have to run your eyes over the page a few times before the baby appears!

The words in the text are educational as we learn what an orca looks like and which animals call their babies ‘calf’. The giraffe and elephant have ‘calves’ but the zebra’s baby is a ‘foal’. The parrot’s and hens’ babies are ‘chicks’ while geese have young ‘goslings’. We all know what the kangaroo’s little one is called, right?

Don’t be surprised to find the crocodile’s baby in her mouth, because that is how she safely carries bub!

The last page is a surprise where all the mums and babies come together, and you have to find the one mum with twins!! Enjoy this book and have a fun time together with your kids.
