The Very Cranky Bear by Nick Bland

‘In the Jingle Jangle Jungle on a cold and rainy day,’

When rain hits the jungle, four friends find shelter in a warm cave. Zebra, lion, moose, and sheep get comfortable with their card game, but they haven’t noticed the bear sleeping inside.

Bear is now awake and cranky. He roars and stomps! The four friends are back in the rain.

What follows is a heartening attempt to cheer bear up so they might be allowed haven in the dry cave again.

There’s a good deal of thinking going on as to what might make the bear happy. The ideas zebra, lion, and moose try on the bear are funny and bring on more cranky roars.

Finally, sheep listens to bear and understands what he really wants.

This thoughtful story reads like a charm and a touch of suspense will have the little ones absorbed till the end.
